Phantom asteroid fields

Phantom asteroid fields are large asteroid fields that are a hot topic on research on how they exactly work, they are extremely confusing because the asteroids disappear for a second, and then come back, this makes navigating the fields extremely complex and impossible. Some theories out there are that the asteroids go into a "phantom realm", or they could teleport to a random place and come back quickly, but no one really knows.
